We offer graduate programs both at the masters and the doctoral level. (also, see FAQ and check out Recent Ph.D. Dissertation/M.S. Theses by CSEE students )
 

M.S. Program

The following degrees (and emphasis areas) are offered at the masters level:

Our masters programs are catered for both full-time and part-time students (for example, several courses are offered in the evening). Also, you can choose to do either the thesis or the non-thesis option. A variety of financial awards such as Graduate Teaching and Research Assistantships are available to our best masters students.

Note that the information package contains a FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) as response to many commonly asked questions from prospective students; hopefully, this FAQ will answer most of your questions. Preferred application deadline, especially for financial consideration, is January 15th for the Fall (August-December) semester applicants. For US citizens/permanent residents, especially in the Kansas City metro area, the deadline is extended till May 1st.


Ph.D. Program

The Department participates in  UMKC's interdisciplinary Ph.D. program through three disciplines:
  • Computer Science (CS flyer)
  • Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE flyer)
  • Telecommunications and Computer Networking (TCN flyer)

We are one of the few places in the country where you can choose Telecommunications & Computer Networking as your primary discipline. A variety of financial awards such as Graduate Teaching and Research Assistantships are available to our best doctoral students.

International Students:

We have a diverse group of international students. The admission process is handled through the UMKC International Student Affairs Office. International students from many countries have local student organizations/clubs.
