The Department has twenty full-time regular faculty and four full-time teaching faculty members. Our faculty is very active in research with funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) and industries. Our recent funding accomplishments include seven NSF grants (including an NSF CAREER award). Many of our faculty have served as NSF review panelists at the invitation of NSF. In the life sciences area, we’re building new partnerships with life and health sciences schools at UMKC, and life sciences partners in the Kansas City area through the Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute (KCALSI).
