My research spans an interdisciplinary cross-section of engineering, medicine, and mathematical sciences. In particular, I am very interested in applying computer vision, signal analysis and mathematical techniques, such as wavelets, to solve real-world imaging problems arising from biology and medicine. My research on biomedical imaging ranges from organ/tissue level to cellular/molecular level.

Genetic imaging, in the context of post-genome era information processing, is one of my current focuses. This emerging and exciting area combines signal/image processing techniques with high resolution genetic probes evolved from human genome sequencing for cancer and disease diagnosis.

On the other hand, I continue working on the theory and algorithms of wavelets and apply them to a variety of biomedical imaging problems; wavelet is a subject that I have been pursuing since my graduate study.
